Really liked this movie. Always wondered how they would meet them up to fight, and this made about as much sense as anything could else could have. I didn't really cringe at any of the dialogue... some was bad, but not theatre leaving bad.
I got a kick out of the way the characters were presented... in that I have always felt sorta sorry for Jason, because he didn't choose this life, it was forced on him. Freddy is just a shithead.
I did have three problems. #1, when they went to camp Crystal Lake, the camp was all run down, and weeds were growing over everything, and there was a car there as well. It was a 50's model of something. The first Friday the 13th came out in 1980, and it wasn't a period piece, I mean, it wasn't specifically set in an older time period. It could have been the car somebody was driving at the time, but still, it just didn't look right. #2, what the fuck was all that propane doing at the lake? Yeah, there were posters about some development coming in soon, and presales were going on, but what were they doing with all those tanks of propane? And most importantly #3, Jason? Scared of water? WHAT the FUCK!? How many times has Jason swam in the lake to kill somebody? Geesh...
And yeah... Jason won. Yippee! He would have cut freddy's head off with his left hand given the time. I mean, he had enough energy to rip his arm off and ram it through his chest??? Ok, he falls in the water after that, but we have seen before, it ain't over til it is OVER. Even if freddy is still alive, I think Jason versus Freddy's head would be a massacre.
And, still yet. UNDERWORLD looks to be a badass mutherfucking film. Can't wait. AND alledgedly Maynard from TOOL and David Bowie are working on a song together for the soundtrack.
