I think that's just instrumental stuff (if I'm not mistaken) probably composed and performed by Dave Pirner (Soul Asylum) as background scoring. I'm trying my best to remember those scenes while I'm at work so, I could be wrong. Being a longtime SA fan, I was always trying to find out where the song "Lucky One" is in the movie, so that may be it. If that's it, I think the song exists (in a different form) on an SA promo sampler somewhere....
