me, many people are calling me an idiot, yes thats not childish, and plus, no one said my opinion of fallons crappy performance was stupid, they just didnt appreciate my tactics. and its just that this kept going on and on, and you are letting it, so you are just as childish as me, and in each post that followed, i decided to insult fallon a little more, and plus im 20, what do you expect, i mean the last movie i saw was sweet home alabama, what do expect from a guy like that, but i must say the dog bryant, could have played fallons part better, but tahts beside the point. and attacking other peoples opinions? having an opposing viewpoint is automatically going to attack anothers opinions, i just think everyone is way too sensitive, other than the repetition aspect, that i can udnerstand.
: *sigh* Oh, what the hell, I'm in this far. Even though multiple people are trying to show you how you're being an idiot, I'll give it one last shot. You're not just expressing an opinion, you're (childishly) attacking other people's opinions, and their right to have them.
: "it was terrible, it should go away, the next dvd should cut it out, it should never exist"
: "i mean just leave the room please."
: "but what was brilliant about the performance, i mean thats stretching the word big time"
: etc.
: : that freedom flops, such as in fallons performance, and since when is having a different opinion, not respecting someone elses, i think fallon sucks donkey nuts, i dont think you are in idiot.
: : : I'm amazed that you think Crowe has so little control over his product. Who gave Fallon direction? Who edited the movie? Were there no rehearsals? Think about what control Kevin has over his actors, do you think Cameron Crowe would be any different?
: : : But the biggest thing here is... why not try respecting other people's opinions, rather than just taking pleasure in shooting them down? Fine... you hated it, I loved it. Get on with your life.
: : : : so you are right, i need to hold back a little, on that statement, but crowe probably said this is what im looking for, and fallon says, hmm ill turn that idea, into a bad snl skit, a caricature if you will. and im just getting abusive, i mean we dont have to shed tears, i hope, i just think that his performance sucked, and thats the bottom line, it was terrible, it should go away, the next dvd should cut it out, it should never exist. and no they dont have halos, but they were just as good in those parts as in the rest of the movie.
: : : : : *sigh* okay... you're starting to get just abusive now, so I'm just about done.
: : : : : I did not call Lee and Crudup weak, I called their performances *in that scene* weak. I didn't know either of them had halos.
: : : : : What makes you say it's a caricature? I'm betting that (just like every other character in the movie) this character was based on real people. Why would Crowe all of a sudden throw a caricature in the middle of his movie? Especially in the middle of what is supposed to be a central scene?
: : : : : : i know bad spelling, but thats all it was, he might as well have been doing an snl skit, and to call crudup and lee weak, i mean just leave the room please.
: : : : : : :
: : : : : : : Well, in my completely inexpert opinion, he totally captured the role. Here's a guy that just oozes everything that was wrong with the music business, and he knows exactly how to appeal to the band. For me, his performance made the whole switch to the plane believable. And then, I guess I just found his 'confession' totally compelling, better than anyone's. I mean... compare him to Jason Lee's (which I thought came off horribly) Patrick Fugit's, which was stilted throughout. Even Billy Crudup's speeches on the plane were kinda lame. It was a small role, but I think he made the most of it.
: : : : : : : : fine, and i agree he has talent, but what was brilliant about the performance, i mean thats stretching the word big time.
: : : : : : : : : I never said that I wanted to see him in Fletch because of his work in Almost Famous, just that I'd have to rethink it. Almost Famous just makes me realize that he's a much better actor than I gave him credit for. However, I *do* think his performance in that movie was brilliant.
: : : : : : : : : : famous, i mean, great movie, lets not let that make it seem like fallon was so brilliant, i mean i was happy to see him, and i thought it was solid, to recant my it sucked statement, but too be so blown away that we want him as fletch, i mean come on.
