Wow... you are starting to sound like a real whiner to me.
It's an adjective, generally meaning the same as exceptional in this context. Whether other people overuse it has absolutely no bearing to me. I have always thought that this particular performance was very well done, so I have no problem using the term.
And is there some reason you have to keep starting new threads about this?

: around? i mean fallon in almost famous=brilliant, i guess alex winters was brilliant in bill and teds excellent adventure then.
