Hi Kevin,

Let me begin by saying I just saw "Jay and Silent Bob Strikes Back" and loved it! The Carlin bit was awesome! Thanks for a great flick!

I would like your opinion about the possibilities and opportunities in the movie business. It has been something I've always wanted to get into, but life took me in another direction.

In short, I received a BS in Computer Information Systems some 20 years ago and made a career in data processing as a computer programmer and database administrator (DBA). Things were going great until the economy collapsed several years ago. Now, corporate America's trend is to move all the high-tech jobs "off shore" (India). A future in data processing looks bleak at best.

I'm thinking it might be a good time to take my life back in the direction I wanted to go in the first place. When I was a teenager, photography was my hobby. I shot miles of B&W film and developed my own pictures. I was on the yearbook "staff" and even made a few bucks shooting horse shows. Today, I play-around with digital photography and video editing on my home computer.

So, my question to you is: do you think there is a place in the movie business for a guy like me? What could I do? Where would I begin?

Thank you in advance for your thoughts (and for your great flicks!).

Sincerely,
Guy Q
