BY ROGER EBERT

Why is the movie press so happy about the failure of "Gigli"? The
reviews were vicious, but after the film was dead in the water, there
were columns by critics gleefully dancing on its grave. Reviewers
who panned the film are now quoting each other in subsequent
pieces. I don't understand this unbridled venom. It's as if everyone
had a vested interest in its failure. I find it all petty and sad. It's times
like this that make me ashamed to be a movie critic.
