T4 without Arnold!?! NO!

Whether or not Arnold Schwarzenegger becomes California's next governator, the producers of ''Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines'' hope to bring another installment of the series to the screen. ''If we come up with a good story, there will be a fourth Terminator -- with or without Arnold,'' Moritz Bormann, CEO of the Munich-based Internationalmedia, told Germany's Welt am Sonntag newspaper this weekend.

Bormann said that during the filming of ''T3,'' Schwarzenegger had discussed with him the possibility he might run for office, leading the producer to consider alternatives for an Arnold-free fourth movie. For instance, another actor could play a robot who'd fight ''T3'''s cyborg villainess, or Schwarzenegger's appearances could be restricted to flashbacks.

In another interview, with Lebanese film magazine The Movie Guide, franchise producer Mario Kassar said, '''T4' is in the works. The screenplay will be ready in 8 or 9 months.'' He even hinted at some plot details. ''The question that has never been answered in all the Terminator films is time travel. You can come from the future to change the present. But we never see how they go back to the future, which is a subject that can be explored. I think you already know where 'T4' is going from the ending of 'T3.''' As for Schwarzenegger's participation, Kassar said, ''It depends on what he's doing in life. If he wants to do politics, he'll do politics. Then we'll have to figure out a way to do it without him. But he has expressed interest in doing 'T4.'''
