"All individuals implicated in violent events and in past human rights violations should be subject to legal proceedings and brought to justice and must not be allowed to stand as candidates in the elections."
That's a quote from Amnestyinternational.com. They are doing everything they can to prove that the overuling by the Guatemala Constitutional Court was in-admissable(due to his involvent of mass killing in the early 80's). If that can be proved, Montt will never be allowed to run for President again. Also because he was previously president in 1982 through a default in the system(they called it a coup d'état) he shouldn't be allowed to run again.
