Only the ignorant are going to bad mouth a film like this. While it was never intended to be a piece studied in seminaries, it was like you said, hs love letter to God.

: Watched the end of Dogma on Comedy Central a bit ago, and wanted to make a remark

: I dont know if it is how Kevin Directed or wrote it or how Bfleck acted it but the scene where God comes out and he looks into her eyes and cries and embraces her, and then thanks her crying gives me chills... because i feel like the real essence of reverence for God was very much caught in that scene.
: That scene is an awesome awesome scene.

: And seeing that, and knowing the religious groups who protested and threatened, i just do not undertand their concept of how blasphemous it was.

: I do not feel God was disrespected in anyway, i think a reverence and respect for Him was well maintained. With some mythogy, symbolisim, speculation, and fiction added in.
: Which if you look at religion as a whole you pretty much have all that going on in organized religions of any flavor. And Dogma was just a movie!
: EGADS!
:

: it does not offend me as a christian in any way.
: and i do not understand why so many groups got SO hostile. Other than ignorance of what they believed was in it over what was.
