All this "Kevin is a pussy sell-out casting a diva in his movies" type of shit has seemed familiar for months, and I finally placed it.
These are all the kids who didn't get into Smitty's movies early enough to bitch about Brenda from 90210 being cast in Mallrats, and now they're making up for lost time!
Anyway, everyone, relax. GIGLI has nothing to do with JERSEY GIRL which has nothing to do with Bennifer's relationship or the international media obsession with it. Buzz is buzz, good or bad, and the movie will sink or swim based upon its quality. Eight months is a lifetime in pop culture, and there will be new things to focus on by then, like Ashton and Demi's lovechild, or Eminem & Kim's seventh divorce.
Also, Sub Evil, considering the last *I* knew, Jersey Girl's budget was $15 million, I really don't see how it's possible that Ben was paid eight figures for it. And even if he were, where is the problem with that? He commands a lot more than $10 mil for his other movies.
