When I had a colonoscopy I had the spend the day before drinking this solution that clears out your colon (not a fun way to spend the day off from work...but not much worse than having a fiber-optic camera stuffed up yer pooper, I guess). Anyway, you'd be amazed at what gets cleared out -- So I can't say that flushing out the colon is such a bad idea...
The real problem I have is with the "exotic" colonics -- one place I've read about specializes in "coffee colonics" where you shoot a mixture of water and coffee into your colon. I'm sure somewhere there is someone working on a Fruity Mango Smoothee colonic as well...
