Using OT in the subject line is simply a courtesy to the folks who aren't interested in reading the off-topic posts. As you may have noticed, some are annoyed that the board has turned into such a free-for-all. The ones who have been here the longest remember a different board entirely...where all of the posts were on topic and the conversation was stimulating. These are the ones who will benefit from the OT in the subject line, as they can avoid the off-topic chatter like the plague.

I am, of course, not one of these people. I will admit that I do not care when folks come and go...at least not enough for it to warrant them posting a new thread. I also could give a shit what people had for dinner. I am shocked that people sat around posting about whether or not you should call something Kraft Macaroni and Cheese or Kraft Dinner for God knows how long last night...then proceeded to discuss the merits and preparation methods of the food. This does not interest me...but...I don't have to read it either.

Many off-topic posts are good and actual spark intelligent conversation...good Lord, I've been typing about this for much too long and I think I may have veered off your original off-topic subject. To sum up...OT in the subject line is helpful.
