And you don't really want marijuana legalised. Seriously, it'll be a lot less fun if they did.
: Ok, Here's my opinion on Drugs....Marijuana...Shrooms and anything else that you can Grow in your back yard should be legal...Things like Habituants and hardcore narcotics...I.E heroin, Cocaine, Crack, ectacy, Acid....These should remain illegal. The law should clearly State that drugs that require no modification, Should be labeled Legal. The laws that Govern the roadways should be extended, from having many "Driving under the influince of" (I:E DUI, DWI, DUIM, DUIN) Laws to just one law, for Driving under the influence.
: The only reason that Marijuana is illegal is because the Government cant Draw Tax Dollars from it. Make it open to tax, and they would easily legalize it.
: If this were the scenario, Then the many Tobbacco and alcahol companies would no doubt jump into mass growing it, They could Package it in plain Packages, Pre Rolled, The government would be able to tax it just as they do ciggerettes, Thus creating yet annother Big Buisness that could pay for Roads and Schools. There would be no Advertisements allowed, no promotions, no signs or anything that says "hey kids, Smoke Pot". Yes this is an idealized society, one in which the government gets theirs and we as Americans Get ours.
: Not only would this Raise Tax revenues by at least 22%, it would also lower Crime by at least 30%-35%. The Educational System in America could Bennifit Greatly from this system, as would Many other public Services, Jails would be 24% Less Crowded and The number of jobs in America would increase by at least 9% Overall...obviousley Higher in some areas and lower in others.
: Places of employment could Still Screen Employees, If they want clean employees, they would still have that option, same as they do with alcaholics today.
: The Medical and Scientific Feild's have long stated that Marijuana Has many madicional Purposes, From Curing Headaches to easing Pain and making you Feel a lot better. It has also been proven that Marijuana is not severly addictive, Sure you want more, But you do not need it, therefore it is not addictive.
: Decriminalization only means that if caught you would not go to jail, you would go to rehab. This is not the way we want to go, as this would Perminently Label it as a Medical Condition the same as alcaholism. Most People who smoke pot agree, if it were legal, they would be less inclined to Hide it, or to drive while impared, and they would No longer feel the need to grow it themselves.
