It makes a much easier board to read if people didn't post just to post. Or to just chat with each other for that matter. With as many people here that are registered, if everyone posted something just to post, there'd be a new board every 5 minutes.
When you take up unnecessary board space, you take up bandwith (or whatever the technical term is) & that could make Ming's job (the board moderator) more difficult.
If you want to chat, fine. Then go to a chatroom. If you want to post, then make it worthwhile.
