Which is why I do a routine back-up of my files.
Since you are getting a G5, you should defiently look into getting a .Mac account.
I know I use mine all the time.
It is what I use for the Best of Stash Cam, for my back-ups (plus they give the software to do
it.), and for my email account for my VA uses.
Also....iChat rocks!
