: I took Spanish from 7th grade on through sophomore year of college. I had to
drop it because it didn't count for any of my requirements, and to graduate in 4 1/2
years I didn't have room for extra "fun" courses. So I was fluent for a while. Of
course the majority of my ability came from a 6 week stay in Quito, Ecuador the
summer I was 16. I was passionate about the language and the culture of
hispanics. I still am, but I don't really do anything about it.
