: I just saw a most disturbing film.......Abandonment. Made me ill actually and I got it
: out of the VHS as fast as possible and put music on and started cleaning things!!
: How's LIFE in general?
: I got rid of my hacker so I'm stll on AIM and still the same name!

I guess today was just a cleaning day. I don't understand how people find the most horrible aspects of what people are capable of to be entertaining. I get the idea of trying to understand and overcome these dark impulses, but I can't see how it's something to watch for fun.
Life is going well. While I don't have it all under control, I've at least got it offt he tracks and onto open road, and I'm pretty sure where the steering wheel is. What a bad metaphore, but that's pretty much how I feel about life at the moment.
About that hacker; most often, a 'hacker' is just a wannabe who has read about a security hole on the Microsoft website then tries to exploit unpatched systems. If it's not done that way, then it's usually someone who has obtained a virus that, when downloaded by others, gives him an 'in' to your system. I have three words of advice: patch, antivairus, firewall. It's all very easy to set up, self-automated. If he's a real hacker, there may be something he could do to get around this, but in general it wouldn't be worth the effort.
