Mayhaps we reconsider the boundries in which we define "morality".
While, granted, some of the people on your list DID do horrible things... start covert wars, molest children, etc... many of the people on your list simply got laid with a consentual adult or did drugs that only harmed themselves.
Heston, for example, spent much of the time of his life between his film career and his senility fighting against gun control that would have saved tens of thousands of lives.
