I think children have a natural talent for this, as they are not as tied to their physical selves. I used to be able to leave my body at will way before anyone really taught me how. Now, not so easy. There are some good books out there that can help you get the idea; also, if you learn to lucid-dream, it gets a lot easier. I recommend trying that first.
And it's "astral". Just for future reference. But I know, I know, they DO pronounce nuclear as "nuke-u-lar" in Texas.
