He tried to get a movie made of the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy for years. I heard (I don't believe it, this is just what I heard) that they're bringing in one of the writers of that Chicken Run movie to finish up the script. Does anybody besides me think that a Hitchhiker's movie cannot be made without Douglas Adams writing it? Mainly because the miniseries made in 1981 (which contrary to popular belief was a six episode TV series, not a movie) was so badly made, mainly because the director, Alan Bell, had his own vision and thus did it wrong, and I've read scripts written by others who turned it into a sci-fi/action type thing with Arthur and Trillian falling in love and treating the Vogons like the Daleks from Doctor Who or something. I just don't think it's possible, but maybe I'm wrong. What do you guys think?
