basicly the difference come down to ritual more than anything else. Maybe Catholicism in not your niche?
Maybe baptist or the like would be better for you. Alot less of those priest issues you mentioned as well in religions where celebacy is not a requirement for its leaders.
(my personal opinion on the rampant child molestation of boys among priests is that it is so hammered into them sex with women is not going to happen for them and is not allowed, they have no place to place those natural desires that it comes out in the form it does.)
