I was reading an article on SPAM, there was a guy in new jersey (i think) and he was responsible for about 20% of all the spam on the internet.
Well, they interviewed him, and he was saying how much he liked SPAMMing and that he didn't think there was any problem with it...
About 3 weeks later he get's approximately a metric ton of random catalogs and continues to recieve over 1000 catalogs a week.
Apparently, a spam activist group found his address and subscribed him to every junk catalog they could find....
