First of I'll mention that I'm only 19. This question is for Kevin, but I doubt he'll read it. I'm just wondering how on earth someone goes about writing a movie like Clerks. I mean, I know you only went to film school for 4 months prior to writing it, but how did you manage to create something that great when you were that young (22 or 23 right?). I'm sitting here thinking how wonderful it would be if I could write a script, but I have no idea how I could manage to do that. I guess what I'm saying is that I could max out some credit cards, get $27,000, film something, and I would end up with a 27 thousand dollar piece of shit sitting in my living room that would never go anywhere. How did you go from something so small (assuming that you had no history in film prior to Clerks), and turn it into something so immense? Did you just submit your film to some independent film festival and everyone loved so much that they paid you for it or what? Can you offer me any advice?
