\ If I had my say, alcohol would be no more legal than marijuana and cigarrettes would only be legal in outdoors. That is because while it is true that cars emit more carbon monoxide than cigarrettes, cars aren't driven in our restaurants and bars. We need to talk emissions in ppm (parts per million), and in that case a smoky restaurant is worse than a crowded freeway.
I dont think so honey, a restaurant full of smokers couldnt put out the emissions one vehicle does over the course of a day!
My main philosphy is, do what you want, just don't affect me with your decisions. Now a person who smokes near me, or a person who drives on my road while intoxicated, or a person who lights up a marijuana cigarrette in my presence are all affecting me. And that's when I get upset. As for the people I love, I ask them to not smoke because it seems to me as though they are just asking to get cancer and die of a painful disease. Through doing this, they are asking us (their loved ones) to take care of them while they suffer this disease. That's a pretty selfish thing to ask.
this might be the stupidest thing ive read all day...what about people slowly but surely killing themselves with cholesterol..are they too asking you too be a witness to their grisly death? if you ask me, i think its selfish not to fulfill a dying mans wishes!
I have all the compassion, empathy, and heart in the world to give to someone who is suffering from something beyond their control, but to be lying in bed dying of lung cancer, or paralyzed during a drunk driving escapade, or something else along those lines is too much. It affects the family as much as the patient. I have a sister who is in pain every day and who has endured more than any person should have to, and watching her go through that and trying everything I can to aid her in any way has destroyed me. If she had somehow caused this, I would resent her to no end.
Again, would you resent your dad for dying from congestive heart failure caused by years of bad eating? he did it to himself right? i dont think you really meant that!
: Those are my thoughts on the subject. And I know they are not eloquently stated. I just hope you can understand where someone else might be coming from.
