: Yeah, and add that Kevin Smith's comedies use universal forms of comedic delivery-namely dick and fart jokes. That is not by any means his limit, but it his is self-titled 'bread and butter'. The comic references are like the movie references-they enhance the films for those that 'get' them, but they don't detract from the enjoyment for those who don't. In fact, most of the time the comic references are not crucial to the jokes at all. And in America (as most of the free world) you can like what you want regardless. In fact, if you can't, technically you're not in a free country and I'm sure there are activists working on that right now.
I'm pretty sure Australia is a free country
