: I've never really lost anyone before. I just got home today to find out my dad died
from a heart attack, i live with my dad, my brother lives with my mom. Does anyone
have any advice? I know this is Kevin's website but i dont really have anyone else
to talk to this about right now.

I am really sorry to hear about your dad's passing. I lost my dad not too long ago,
too. I don't really have any advice, but I just wanted to say a few things. First of all,
know that you are not alone. I mean, in my case, I felt like I was because the rest of
our family didn't particularly care for him (including his own mother...the only
explination I have is that they are cold-hearted people), but I know that he had very
good friends where he lived (he moved away several years ago to find happiness).
Second, he is always with you. I don't know if you believe in this type of thing or not,
but I do. When my father passed, I know he came to my apartment and saw his only
grandson. He was planning on coming to see the new baby (we were in Iowa, he
was in Florida), but unfortunately, he didn't make it. But when I picked up my 6 week
old son to hug him as I cried, he laughed! I mean, gut-busting laughter came out of
him! Babies that young do not laugh. And I know my dad was a funny man, so my
only explination is that he was standing behind my playing with him. And third, he
really is in a better place now. No matter how happy or healthy he was in life, there
is ...how do I say it? there is no more ...sin? or daily things that happen to
everyone...like worry or frustration...I don't really know how to put it, but hopefully
you understand. Keep your head up.
My condolances
Anitra
