It was always one of the best half-hour comedies on television, regardless of season, it's unfair to judge it against itself, judge it against its competition.
That being said, did they reabsorb staff from Futurama? This could be why it's gone back up from really good to fucking amazing. Because Futurama was the best written comedy on television.

He's the most talented rapper in popular music. Granted, I'm not much into rap and... his stuff would be incredibly offensive if I didn't realize it was all a front... but strictly as a rap lyricist, he's par excellence.
