Kevin, what directing experience did you have before you made Clerks? You spent some time at the Vancouver Film School, right? From what I've read you had a pretty miserable time in Vancouver. As Vancouverite I would like to apoligize on behalf of your Vancouver fans (and yes there are a fair number of us- your whalers/canucks videogame line is appreciated by those of us who remember the glory days of Vancouver hockey [we're finally on the rise again!]) for the bad time you had in our soggy city. Did you learn that much about directing at VFS? I'm in the process of writing a screenplay with a friend of mine. We know what we want the movie to be, but we are not sure that we possess the directorial skill and experience, that is needed to realize our vision. Neither my friend nor I have gone to film school. Do you think that we should try to make the movie ourselves? Or hould we try to flog our screenplay to possible buyers? Any advice you could give would be greatly appreciated! Thanks.
