Personal opinions aside, yes, in the good old days movies with intermissions afforded you time to take a squirt, have a smoke or buy shit at the concession. Rent or buy "The 10 Commandments". Or "Dr. Zhivago". They both have intermissions on the DVD (not sure on the tapes) and even have a "preamble". There is a correct term for that but I can't remember what it is. Entre Act?
