It was on Sci Fi last night, havent watched it in years, but Batman holds up suprisingly well. I think it was a quality movie and Burton did a fine job, Keaton as well. I think Daredevil and Batman are two very different movies. Murdock isnt loaded, Murdock doesnt wear bulletproof outfits, and while we see the inner turmoil of the character in Batman, Murdock shows inner turmoil and physical punishment, something Spiderman touched on a little. It's great to see Daredevil scaring the shit out of a kid and saying "im not the bad guy". Thats the kind of thing we havent seen yet in one of these movies. In Spiderman it was great to see Parket walk away from Mary Jane knowing that his involvement in her life could destroy her. Those are the questions that these characters would deal with, and its what makes a good central character. Kudos to Mark Steven Johnson for writing a screenplay that makes the central character question his motivation. And unlike Batman or Spiderman, Daredevil doesnt ask himself any important questions based on a woman, but rather because of himself. That was nice to see, since most of the superhero movies have characters questioning their lives and choices because of love (which always seems kind of gay).
