Mr. Smith,
I was reading an article about your work concerning your next project after "Jersey Girl". You mentioned that one possibility would be one of two comic book films, one close to your heart, and the other a bit of a surprise. I speculated that these films could be Green Arrow or Preacher. As you have expressed affinity for both. Though it may seem trivial, or a bit early, My friends and I bow on our knees and ask for one thing if you were to make a Preacher film: USE THE MUSIC FOR JOHNNY MOTHER FUCKING CASH! We are not saying all Johnny Cash, all the time, nor do we know if you're even a fan of the Man in Black, but we think his music would enhance the atmosphere and mood of a Preacher film. For your consideration may we suggest all four volumes of his most recent American Recordings: American Recordings (1994), Unchained (1996), American Recordings III: Solitary Man (2000), and the most recent American Recordings IV: The Man Comes Around (2002).
I think that despite your critics, you are a very capable filmmaker and ostensibly one helluva damn guy.
If we are right about the Preacher project, we can't wait and we also look forward to "Jersey Girl".
Thank you and you rocked in Lexington, KY (2002)!
Area Man
