I bought the DVD for an Eve w/ Kevin and thought the stories were hilarious, but my main reason for this post concerns Kevin's discussion about visual criticism or general criticism concerning his films. Being a long time fan this stuck in my head. Then something interesting came to mind. All those critics who write disparaging comments about your movies probably enjoy renowned classic filmmakers like Preston Sturges, King Vidor, Sam Fuller, Orson Welles and Raoul Walsh. While I realize all those filmmakers have distinctive styles, they also believed heavily in the concept of entertaining their audience foremost. As you well know Preston Sturges made a movie stating the importance of comedy with the film Sullivan’s Travels. And Sam Fuller is touted as claiming story is more important that aesthetic value. This of course is obvious when you look at any of his films. Anyway, the next time any asshole shots you some shit about your films just remember that your entertaining the people who are blessed enough to get what your trying to put across. Thanks for the laughs, and I look forward to seeing Jersey Girl and Fletch Won.

P. S.
You know I had a fairly intelligent spiel there. I hope the foul language didn’t undermine that.
