THX1138 was an early sci-fi film by George Lucas. The name was used in self-reference in Star Wars, when the stormtroopers guarding the Millenium Falcon were lured on board and had their uniforms stolen by Luke and Han. An Imperial officer noticed the guards missing from their posts and hailed one of them on his communicator - "THX-1138 - why aren't you at your post?"
And finally, Lucas pioneered his own type of surround sound, which is known as...THX.
I'm nowhere near as Old Skool as most of the people you mentioned, but I'll offer them - and you - props for making this a fun place when they were more frequent visitors.
