: Does anyone have any advice for a budding fifteen yr old director/actor?

: As far as directing goes, I frequently come up with ideas for films, but there doesn't seem to be any realistic chance of anything more happening due to finance/interest (other people's, not mine) being at a minimum. If anyone has had any experience directing, how did you get started off?

Technically, the writer is the one who comes up with the stories and puts them down on paper, while the director shapes the movie into how he saw it as he read the script and directs the actors (hence the name) how to act according to their character. That said, I would say just write the story. Get a camera and a bunch of friends, and enter a film festival. I'm still working on that with myself and few of my own friends, and it seems to be working fairly well...

: On the acting part. I've been advised not to do drama in college when I'm 16 (i live in wales (the uk), I don't know what school american kids are in at the age of 16, but we got to college) but to simply audition as much as possible for anything at all. Could any pros or anyone with experience in acting please shed light on the situation?

I don't understand what you mean, but anyone who is 'advising' you not to do something should not be listened to. You gotta make that decision on your own. Hope I helped.

: Thanks for your help, if you can give any.
