Since you bring this up, I'll add that wholescale war is a completely ineffective way to find and/or destroy any terrorist cell.
Did blowing up every mountain in Afghanistan help us find Osama bin Laden? No.
And has terrorism in Afghanistan ceased? No.
If intelligence and swift, focused action is called for, so be it. But America's traditional slash-and-burn war tactics ain't gonna prevent terrorism in the least.
