Well, I will have to agree with you on one part.. I HATED the pilot of BoP. Wife gave it another shot, and she and our daughter started watching it. During a stint right before xmas, I managed to screw my back up (kids too that to ya ;) and I was stuck on the couch during the time that wife and daughter (2 years old mind you, and can say 'huntress') were watching.

Upon further examination, it seemed the clunkiness of the first episode was gone, and it was streamlined. Kinda reminded me of the old show 'Forever Knight'. Dunno why tho...

ShadowLore

: : As far as Farscape goes.. I personally hated the show, but I've seen plenty of reason to keep it on. It was one of the only original (semi) SciFi shows left. (And I'm sorry, Andromeda is flat out horrible.. it reeks of ripoff)

: Oh yeah. Andromeda sucked, Earth Final Conflict sucked (despite a concept that could've been interesting in other hands)... and Babylon 5, I feel I probably could've gotten into except that it was so fucking involved that it took the power of 3 Trekkies combined into a "Minority Report" hive-mind to figure out what the fuck was going on at any given moment. No wonder Peter David was on board. And Harlan Ellison, too, but that's just because he liked confusing people.

: Maybe Farscape's just the same way. It was my dad's favorite show so he'd always talk about it and keep me updated and stuff.

: : Fact is tho, Birds had enough potential to be worth WB keeping. To quote my wife: 'It shows that women can be intelligent and strong, and not be friggen retarded like Buffy'.

: Some of the stupidest dialogue I've ever heard in my life was heard in the Birds pilot... and I've seen a lot of college films... and you can't be an intelligent or strong character if all you cough up are tired cliches.

: Buffy... I think it may be like Babylon 5 and Farscape... it's just so fucking convoluted that you have to watch the whole run to understand what's going on. Some of the characters were purposely clueless because... at the beginning of the series, they were 16 or whatever... unlike the total accidental stupidity of Birds.

: Mike
