Much more accessible in terms of plot, yes, and they still contain that Argento "look" (even the hard-to-impress Scott Mosier dug DEEP RED). OPERA is pretty much a mess in terms of story and acting and can really only be appreciated by hard-core horror and Argento fans and/or hard-core film fans.
TENEBRAE is also pretty accessible plot-wise. In fact, it's the one Argento film that really had me engaged in its story and trying to figure out who the hell the killer was, and my jaw dropped to the floor the first time I saw it when the big revelation came at the end.
