I think "Jersey Girl" will be judged on its own merits. If "Gigli" ended up not doing too good buisness-wise, which I doubt (Martin Brest makes pretty good movies that make money--YES, even "Meet Joe Black" was respected by a few, like me, and made some money...though just not enough to cover the huge production cost in its initial release) then "Jersey Girl" might be percieved as THE Ben Affleck/Jennifer Lopez movie that the public should see (if the those reporting on the industry respect it). And if "Gigli" is a success then it might wett the appitites of the public for "Jersey Girl". Who knows? This is all REALLY arbitrary anyway. What's the use of us worrying and speculating about the grosses of the film? That's the job of Miramax and Exhibitor Relations. Just sit back and think positive. You have hopes for "Jersey Girl"? Keep hoping.
