I love the cute little fanboy title... I loved the books, I loved the first two films. 'Admiting' implies there is something actually wrong with it. You dont like it? Thats cool. Not everyone has to like every movie.

Now, this I totally agree with. Fantasy vs Sci-Fi Fantasy. Two Towers was a DAMN good film. I would say one of my favorites of all time. Then again, I never would say I have a 'favorite' film, because they are all from different genres... Sure, LotR is a 3 part epic film and so was Star Wars... Thats the comparison, and that is ALL.
Would I say that in my hierarchy of great movies, Two Towers was better than Fight Club which was better than Clerks? No. Because they are different fucking movies and get their respect dependant on my mood. Now, mindless formulaic films (like the horror 'I see dead people' films) will always be related back to the most original in concept. I see it as more of an insult to LotR that the best that people can do is compare it to something existing.
Every movie is its own.
