When the film was picked up for distribution by Lion's Gate, they were paid that fee back (I believe; I'm not totally sure on that). After that, Lion's Gate makes the money because they put up a lot more money to release it, market it, etc.

I'd be outraged that my public didn't get the product the way I intented it. How can the public trust View Askew to make a quality product if they don't have some sort of input and control of the final product? Hence it is as much of View Askew's problem as Lions Gate. I rented the product solely on the fact that View Askew made it. I won't make that mistake again. View Askew should definitely get a couple of penny's for each DVD sold or they're lame.
