1) Same opening logo
2) Fall of Gandalf review - Goes after the Balrog
3) Frodo captures Gollum/Smeagol. Gollum agrees to guide path to Mordor.
Reach the Dead Marshes.
4) Eomer banished by Theoden from Rohan. Theoden ill. Grima advisor.
5) Merry and Pippin escape Uruk-hai into Fangorn Forest.
Hook up with Ents, Treebeard, and Gandalf briefly.
6) Aragorn hunts Uruk-hai. Runs into Eomer and Rohirrim.
7) Tracking Merry/Pippin, Aragorn runs into Gandalf the White.
8) Aragorn/Gandalf travel to Edoras. Theoden healed, Grima banished.
9) Gollum leads Frodo to Black Gates of Mordor, suggests another path.
10) Upon new path, Frodo runs into Faramir. Captured and led to Gondor.
Faramir intent on keeping the Ring, like Boromir. Doesn't know how
Boromir died.
11) Gandalf sets off to find the Rohirrim and bring them back to Rohan.
12) Aragorn and Theoden prepare for war, sends people to Helms Deep.
13) Saruman launches suprise attack on way to Helms Deep. Aragorn falls
off cliff. People think he's dead.
14) Aragorn/Arwen meet in a dream. Basically healed through it. Some
background banter between Elrond and Arwen.
15) Aragorn wakes up, notices 10,000 army marching from Isengard to
Helms Deep. Rides on to warn others.
16) Entmoot begins. Meeting of the keepers of trees. Merry Pippin are
present. Decide to avoid war. Treebeard leds Merry and Pippin
out of forest.
17) Elves join up with Men at Helms Deep to bolster forces. Haladir too.
18) Uruk-hai attack Helms Deep. Overrun it eventually. Good action
scenes with Aragorn/Gimli/Frodo. "Dwarf tossing", "keeping score".
19) As they exit the forest, Merry, Pippen, and Treebeard see the
destruction of forest by Saruman. Ents declare war on Isengard
and Saruman.
20) Faramir learns of Boromir's Death from Sam. Frodo avoids being sent
to the keepers of Gondor.
21) Gandalf and Rohirrim arrive at Helms Deep. Just as Helms Deep was
falling, the reinforcements save the day.
22) Ents overrun Isengard and fire pits.
23) Faramir lets Frodo go. Unlike Boromir.
24) Gollum leads on Frodo and Sam....Only to betray later by meeting Shelob
25) End of Movie
No Pelennor Fields battle just yet. Shelob is only hinted at. Gollum still looks a little fake to me. The shading of his character still looks cartoonish. It's 4AM, excuse miscues...
