I didn't see the MTV awards but heard that they looked "odd"- I don't think that's a fault of shooting 24P, though- probably it has more to do with the fact that we're psychologically used to seeing "live" events at 30 frames-per-second (which is what video normally is), rather than the 24 FPS that we're used to for films. Or it could have been an issue with the real-time on-the-spot downconversion of 24P High-Definition to NTSC for broadcast.

Lots of TV shows are filmed in 24P, I've never heard anybody complain about how they look. HOW HIGH, SESSION 9, ATTACK OF THE CLONES, and SPY KIDS 2 were also shot in 24P High-Defition- did they look "odd" to you? The fact is, if you plan on shooting DV with the possible intention of ever going to film, 24P is the way to go.

: Low cost camera that shoots 24 fps so everyones work will look silly online. Er, I mean look like the MTV movie awards, that wasn't silly, right?
: I too would own the Panasonic if I had the $$. I just don't think I'd use the 24 fps setting much.
