: but im not sure if it was better. not to take anything away from it, but the storytelling felt like a pulp fiction rip-off, and the fact that it was based around a single event took away from some of the surprise of the direction of the film. in mama tambien, i couldnt figure out where it was going AT ALL throughout the film. it really surprised me with every scene...

The story telling "borrows" some elements from Pulp Fiction, It would be a rip-off of PF if you saw Octavio talking to his buddies about Pop culture trivia. Or featuring the stylish violence PF showed. In AMores perros the violent scenes are anything but.
it would be the same to say ALL Hollywood movies are copying from the very first movie made in the "three act" model.

: i havent seen that other one, how would you compare it to the others...that one actor in mama and perros is damn good though, even if i cant understand the language.

The last one is different, it's sort of a dark comedy. Very touching, very funny.

: : WAY WAY WAY better... I mean just better than "Y tu mamá tambien".
: : Although I Liked it, It's one of the only three memorable films of the "new mexican cinema".
: : Those are: Y tu mama tambien, Amores Perros (Love's a bitch) and "Sexo, pudor y lagrimas" (Sex, shame and tears).
