Not a critics favorite, nor a box office smash back in 1983, but being 14 at the time, a film with topless women, beer drinking, and skiing (I live in Salt Lake City) was obviously very impressionable on this budding teenager. The thing is, though, I still pop this silly, fun movie in the VCR a few times a year when ski season is approaching and in full bloom. I can't help myself! So many films from about '80 to '86 were just such silly fun, with no comment or apology!

I can't even tell you the names of but two actors in "Hot Dog, The Movie". David Naughton, who's claim to fame was a starring role in "An American Werewolf In London" and he was also a disco one hit wonder with the 1979 song "Makin' It" from the very short lived sitcom "Makin' It". David was also in a memorable Seinfeld episode, playing a friend of Elaine's at Pendant Publishing who had just recently gone "on the wagon" (although Jerry thought the term was "OFF the wagon"). And also starring in Hot Dog, former Playboy centerfold Shannon Tweed, star of a million bad "Showtime" type B-movies over the years, and longtime girlfiend of Gene Simmons.
