'The Last American Version' is actually a sort of remake of an Israeli film that director Boaz Davidson made in Israel in 1978.
It follows the exact same events only that the original is not as cheesy and set in the 50's, filled with great 50's music. It's a wonderful film. Really great. It was huge in Germany and had about 8 or 9 sequels, most of them are fun but none is as good as the original.

I have no idea how you can get it, but if you'll have access to it, somehow, someday, I urge you to watch the original.
