I read some of the other posts. Sounds like he's trying to return to his roots that started with Chasing Amy. The problem is: (A) he's probably doing this because he's worried that his reputation was ruined after J&SBSB did shit at the theater and (b) he doesn't want people to think he isn't an artist after unsuccessfully slumming it (aka selling out) by making a stupid, American Pie clone (J&SBSB) rather than something hard-hitting (like Dogma).
These are two bad reasons to make a movie.
