Only the studio scenes and a few city exteriors were filmed in Philly. The bulk of the film was shot in Paulsboro, NJ, with additional scenes filmed on location in Highlands, NJ and a few scenes in New York City.

85% of the movie was FILMED IN NEW JERSEY (Paulsboro and Highlands), and most of the film is SET IN NEW JERSEY.

Not neccessarily missing the point (well, your comment about where the actors were born was pretty dumb), just misinformed. The majority of JERSEY GIRL was FILMED IN NEW JERSEY and that is where the story is set.
