That bored me to tears! I turned off his commentary after about 10 minutes. It was just him and his technical people talking about technical shit. I much prefer directors and their ACTORS talking about making the film, but I suppose in the recent Star Wars saga, the actors don't mean too much, they're just background for special effects.

As for Leelee Sobieski's commentary on Joyride, she's worked hard with a language coach in recent years to cover her accent: I believe she's Russian, or Polish, or something like that. She can probably handle lines, but in real life when you're still getting used to a different culture you have a hard time understanding everybody's jokes. And Zahn seems like a jokester, too. Maybe I'm just making a lame excuse for Leelee, I don't know.

Commentaries I like, however? The commentary in Mallrats is better than the actual movie. Affleck is pretty damned funny. And the commentary for Boogie Nights is good, too. Paul Thomas Anderson taped commentary at different times with the actors at their houses, and seemed to be drinking with all of them: w/Mark Wahlberg (begging to let Paul let him leave so he wouldn't miss his plane to Tahiti), w/John C. Reilly & Don Cheadle, w/Heather Graham & William H. Macy, w/Julianne Moore, w/Melora Walters (with her yelling kid in the background), and w/Luiz Guzman (Paul busting his chops about possibly being stoned throughout the film). It's pretty damned good stuff.

OH! The best is the This Is Spinal Tap commentary, with Michael McKeon, Christopher Guest, and Harry Shearer doing the commentary AS THEIR CHARACTERS from Spinal Tap! (David St. Hubbins, Nigel Tuffnel, Derek Smalls) Hilarious stuff! Check it out!

: but had to shut it off 5 min. into it, 'cause of the absolute stupidity.

: I have no problem w/ Milla Jonavich & Michelle Rodriguez, but MY GAWD! Can we at least have a somewhat intelligent conversation about the flick?

: The only other commentary I can compare it to is the one for "Joyride" w/ Steve Zahn and Leelee Sobieski. I frickin' loved Zahn's comments, but Sobieski was f.uckin' killin' me with the meaningless dribble that spattered out of her mouth! I realize that she's (what?) 18 er somethin', but c'mon, she graduated high-school, right?

: On that same note, what would you say is the worst DVD commentary you've ever heard?
