That's why I'm into hip hop and rap if it's good because they are great about laying down stuff.
DMB, The Spin Doctors, Blues Traveller, John Mayer all of these I enjoy.
I'm also into a once local band called Mingo Fishtrap. They all went to UNT and I found out about them because a guy at UNT was in the 1 O'clock band there and he student taught at our school. He was in the band.
He eventually took a job with us 2 years later and the band relocated to Austin where they gig all the time now, but he wanted to stay because he had just gotten married.
They still kick ass though.
Anyway, anything that's funky I'll listen to.
Red Hot Chili Peppers is at the top of my list. If our band had a Bass Player like Flea we would be set.
