A fan of Kevin Smith's would think he saw something in her that'd be good for the part and trust his judgement on casting her. They'd also be glad at the fact that J.Lo's massive fanbase will see she's in a new PG-13 movie and go see it. This would mean even MORE exposure for Kevin Smith, the movie MORE THAN LIKELY reaching number 1 on opening weekend (The Kevin Smith fanbase AND the Jennifer Lopez fanbase), and bookus of box office bucks.
